KENT AC NEWS BULLETIN
20 July 2025
Lots of impressive and inspiring performances throughout the week too, kicking off wiuth Sarah Parry who completed the 10k Chase the Sun event at Victoria Park hitting a PB of 51:46 and coming first in her age category!
Further north, the legend of the trails herself, Vic Cartwright continued her track (trail?) record by coming 1st female at the St Aidan’s 10k trail race near Leeds. Even some angry geese couldn’t put paid to Vic’s smile and ability over off-road terrain! The podium places didn’t stop there, with Alex Hamlet coming 2nd in the Helvellyn 58k Skyrace in the Lake District, beating the previous course record in doing so! Brilliant!
Meanwhile, down south, Alex and Calum represented at the Brighton Phoenix 10km, with Alex running a PB of 38:41, and Calum running an impressive 33:53.
This week also saw some incredible performances at the BMC 3km at Sutcliffe Park. Well done to George Searle for running 9:48 and to Amy Clements for running 9:49 – a top 3 performance this year for the VW40 category no less!
6 DAYS TO GO!
Next Saturday will see the Ron Hale Open take place at our very own Alex Yee Ladywell Arena.
The event is inclusive for everyone! Whether you’re experienced or wanting to try out something new, there really is an event for you. And hey, if it’s your debut at an event, a PB is guaranteed…
To note that the event will also act as the Club Championships for multiple events, including long jump, triple jump, 1500m, 400m (for U17s and seniors), 100m, 300m (for U15s), and hurdles.
You can enter here. We have attempted to keep costs down as much as possible including discounting Kent AC entries. So tell your friends from other clubs to join too.
And of course, if you are unable to compete or volunteer, please still come down and support the event! Lots of volunteers needed too, so please consider helping out if you can!
Fancy helping raise funds for the club and, if you’re lucky, winning some dosh? It’s £6/month to choose your numbers for the Kent AC lottery, with a chance to win £250.
