At Kent AC we have a thriving and competitive masters (35+) presence at our club and we welcome new members of any age. We have a huge range of ages and abilities from multiple world champions to local runners who just love getting out to run locally, either competing for the club or socially to stay fit.
Training
Masters athletes are welcome to join our senior training groups which are held on Tuesday and Thursdays
Club fixtures for Masters athletes
Masters athletes are welcome to take part in senior and age group races that the club supports. Additionally as a club we enter certain specific Masters team races and we always do well and have a good time. These are:
SEAA Road Relays usually in September
- BMAF Cross country relays XC 3000m relays (24th October at Horspath, Oxford in 2026)
- SEAA Cross country Masters Championships (usually late November)
- Kent County Masters XC Championships (usually in late November/early December each year in Dartford.)

Kent AC masters achievements
We are enormously proud of the achievements of our masters athletes locally, nationally and internationally!
Current National and International Kent AC Masters achievements:
- Joe Appiah MBE – multiple track and field events world record holder, current M50 60m and 100m hurdles world records
- Clare Elms, multiple world record holder W60 current world record holder 1500m, 5k and 5miles
- Emily Murray, Scottish W45 Triple Jump record holder 2025
- Lin Skinner, European Masters medallist and 800/1500m V50 British Champion 2026
- Nic Torry 1st V45 and British age group record 65:37 Paddock Wood Half Marathon 2024

Support for individual entries
We also have lots of masters athletes competing as individuals in age group events locally, nationally and internationally. If anyone is unable to compete due to financial concerns we do have a hardship fund that anyone in the club can apply for to help.
