KENT AC NEWS BULLETIN
6 July 2025
Jake Simmonds took the win in 15:25, followed a second later by Olly Buck in 15:26. Alex Hamlet, Jim Allchin, Chris Busaileh, Matt Speed and Rob Laing all crossed the line in under 16 minutes.
Amy Clements was our top female scorer and the first woman overall in a speedy 16:40. Molly O’Connor, in second place, showed an impressive kick to finish in 18:26. Ellie Freeden was our third scorer in 18:28, with Lin Skinner and Nesrin Sabanci completing the scoring team in 19:04 and 19:12 respectively.

Well done to all that took part and a reminder that the penultimate Assembly League race of the year will be on 31st July in Victoria Park.
Assembly League #4
At the London 5000m at Parliament Hill on Friday evening, we had several strong performances:
Kurt Wilkinson – 15:12
Rhys Doherty – 16:14
Neil Philips – 16:19
In yesterday’s Kent Young Athletic League fixture in Gillingham, the U13 boys were so impressive. Everybody did their absolute best, getting us to third position late in the afternoon. This is division one, competing with the likes of Blackheath and Bromley, Ashford, and Tonbridge.
Otis got PBs in all his 3 solo events! Zac won the A hurdles by meters, but was still unhappy with his performance, and followed up with 2nd in the LJ. Emerson got 2nd in javelin with a huge PB.
Vwede got a PB in the 100m, with Matthew not far behind in 14.3. Vwede, Zac, Syon and Otis ran 56s in the 4×100 to finish 3rd.
With little training, and none with a real Hammer, Emerson and Matthew managed to get A and B scores in HT, getting us 3rd position! Jeremy, Flynn and Oscar ran well in the 1500m to get good points. Nico scored in the HJ, and would have improved if not interrupted by having to race 200m.
Well done athletes, great attitude from all of you!
Grins in Gillingham
Further south in Bewl today, a few took on the 15-miler and all finished in under two hours.
Ian Ellwood completed the course in 1:51:43, Robbie Spargo in 1:56:33, then Mary Brooking in 1:57:27 as 1st v50.
